SunGard Makes Change At The Top

The financial services software giant
SunGard has appointed Russell Fradin as chief executive, effective 31 May 2011, succeeding Cristóbal Conde. Fradin will also become a member of SunGard’s board of directors. Fradin was most recently the chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Hewitt, where he oversaw the September 2010 merger between Aon Consulting and Hewitt Associates. “We are pleased that Russ Fradin is joining SunGard as chief executive officer to lead the company into its next phase of growth,” said Glenn Hutchins, chairman of the board of directors of SunGard. Conde served as the software firm’s president and CEO since 2002, and is also one of the company’s largest individual shareholders. After SunGard was taken private in August 2005, he indicated he would work with its private equity sponsors to eventually hand over leadership to a successor, the firm said in a statement. Conde will work with Fradin during the transition.
